Don’t be alarmed, that loud pop you just heard over the internet was just DCEU fans hearing the news that Patty Jenkins is set to return for Wonder Woman 2. Variety is reporting that director has closed a deal with Warner Bros. to direct the sequel.
The article goes on to say that Jenkins will be well compensated this time around:
“While an exact number could not be unveiled, sources say the number is in the $8 million dollar range to write, direct and produce making her the highest paid female director of all time. A substantial backend of box office grosses is also included in the contract.”
It should come as no surprise to anyone that WB made sure to get Jenkins back for another film. The first Wonder Woman shocked both fans and film pundits with both its financial and critical success. Also, it had been revealed a while back that Geoff Johns and Patty Jenkins were already working on the script for the next film.
Gal Gadot is also set to return in Wonder Woman 2, which is due out December 13, 2019. But we will be able to see the character a lot sooner in Justice League this November.
