DCNB: Rocksteady Tease, Telltale Bane Reveal, DCEU Continuity, Justice League Info, And More

DC News Bulletin collects all the news from the week that we either missed or didn’t think was fit for its own post. It features news from the DCEU, DCTV, DC Animated, and of course DC Comics.

Well, as you may have noticed I was missing for a couple days. I got really busy and then really sick, but I’m back bay bay! There’s a lot of really interesting stuff I missed so it’s definitely worth reading this news post all the way through.

Rocksteady next game teased:

Rocksteady marketing manager Gaz Deaves took to Twitter to tease the game studios next project. He can’t say what it is, but says we will lose our minds. Sure there’s been DC related rumors but it could be anything. Either way you know it’s going to be good.

Telltale Batman trailer and clip:

Telltale has released a new clip and a trailer featuring Harley Quinn and our first look at Bane in the next installment of Batman: The Enemy Within. The episode titled “The Pact” will be out on October 3rd.

DCEU continuity talk:

DC Entertainment president Diane Nelson spoke at length about the DC film universe with Vulture. Some of the highlights:

* WB is not killing off continuity, but they’re going to make movies that don’t rely on a bigger universe.

* Aquaman isn’t going to connect to anything, and will feel like a standalone movie.

* DCEU was never actually used by WB. It was mentioned as a joke I’m an article and picked up by press and fans.

Justice League incorporating classic themes:

Danny Elfman spoke with Bilboard about incorporating classic Batman and Superman themes into the upcoming Justice League.

‘There are a few little fan moments. I instated a moment of the Wonder Woman theme that Hans Zimmer did for Batman Vs. Superman, but I also had two minutes where I had the pleasure of saying, “Let’s do John Williams’ Superman.” and that for me was heaven, because now I have a melody to twist, and I’m using it in an actually very dark way, in a dark moment. It’s the kind of thing that some fans will notice. Some won’t. It’s a moment where we’re really not sure whose side he’s on.’

New Justice League trailer shown:

Regal Cinemas VP Chris Sylvia, tweeted out that Geoff Johns presented a new Justice League trailer at the National Association of Theatre Owners Fall Summit. It looks like he has since deleted his tweets. No word on what new footage was seen in the trailer, but with the November release date soon approaching we may find out for ourselves very soon.

Justice League images released:

Ciak magazine has released the cover for their October issue which features the Justice League:

Some new posters for Justice League were released, you can see them over at Digital Spy. Also a subscriber exclusive cover for Empire, drawn by DC Comics artist Jason Fabok.

Flashpoint script turned in:

Variety reporter Justin Kroll took to Twitter to report that the Flashpoint Script has been turned in and that Robert Zemeckis is still in the running for director.

Iris West cut from Justice League:

Batman News is reporting that Iris West’s scenes have been cut from Justice League. If so, it’s kind of a bummer since The Flash cast and crew have not had it easy this past year. But with Flashpoint on the horizon, things may be looking up.

Darren Aronofsky talks Man of Steel 2:

Darren Aronofsky spoke with Cinepop to discuss his incredibly bold new movie Mother! and possibly directing a Superman movie. Basically, he was in the running for Man of Steel and likes Superman, but because they’re “deep into reinventing him” right now, so it doesn’t seem likely.

Not much news coming out but be sure to catch up on the DC Comics big event Dark Nights: Metal, it is truly epic.

Also, Batman: The White Knight will be coming out next week so save your pennies. It’s an elseworld story where Batman is the villain and Joker is the hero. You know I love my elseworlds stories.

Teen Titans Go! movie announced:

For some twisted reason, Warner Bros. has decided to release a Teen Titans Go! movie, yes thats the crappy version of the show. They clearly think they will make money off of it so it must be more popular than I assume it to be. Those poor children will never know the joys of watching the original Teen Titans. It comes out on July 27, 2018.
